I'm here. Got back from me jollies yesterday. Proper downer about it all. But I'm about. Just been away like.

 

Sorry v'man. Didn't get that pm back mate. Was mint in Weymouth. Some seafood festival on when we arrived. Went Lyme Regis, lulworth cove, erm, 1 sec, I'll ask Jess... Dorchester, but thought that was a bit shit, expected it to be like York or oxford maybe. Didn't even see a pub there, pissed it down too. Portland bill, which in portland is a mint d-day museum, just opened up. Absolutely mint. You may already know v'man.

 

Been on me targets today, but need to get back into it again. Here's me on the rocks... and on a anti aircraft gun... of which I don't know the model, but I guess Simon will.

 

Got a sound video of the museum but it's to big to upload.

Definitely, you are sitting on and aiming a Bofors 40mm Anti Aircraft gun Jamie. Fed by a magazine of shells top loading into the breech. It made a distinctive ''pom-pom-pom'' sound when it fired. It was a decent gun for the time when they mounted it on merchant and naval ships defending against medium altitude aircraft; 1.000ft or so up.

 

They put two of these guns, one each under the wings of Hawker Hurricane tank busters in the western desert. Gave it a formidable punch against light german armoured vehicles.

Fished off Cesil Beach a few times, really good. Very nice part of the world, never stayed there but used to travel across from East Devon.

Totally agree Rez ,Dorchester is a big let down after York n Chester ,Lyme Regis and Weymouth are great places and showing my age back in the day firing camp at Lulworth cove with large tracked lumps of metal that the feo wont put on my ticket .The Jurasic coast is well named most of the visitors are older than me atb
